Ramp launches AI system for accounting close and raises $750M (3 minute read)
Ramp, a corporate card and expense management company, launched Ramp Stack, an artificial intelligence system that handles routine accounting work such as the monthly close, cash reconciliation, and posting journal entries, and said it raised $750 million at a $44 billion valuation. The product marks Ramp's entry into the accounting firm market, and the company said it beat general purpose AI models on more than 200 accounting tasks. What this means for your stack: if you already use Ramp for cards and expenses, Stack could pull close and reconciliation work into a tool you have, but it is aimed at accounting firms first, so confirm availability and how it handles your account coding before planning around it.
